BrightEyes, I feel your pain. Zillow, I hate you…
Zillow is some new Real Estate companY, and they are using my favorite fucking BrightEyes song (First Day of My Life) in their commercial. Geesh!
But, when you think about it, why is this happening? Because people are downloading his songs for Free. Smaller, Indie musicians are in crisis. Their fans are not supporting them - they are too busy supporting Spotify, who basically steals music from musicians, and makes the profit themselves, instead of the musicians getting paid for their efforts.
“FREE DOWNLOADABLE MUSIC” has caused many smaller Indie musicians, just trying to support themselves with their music, to have to resort to extreme measures, just to continue doing what they love.
Please, when downloading Free Music, realize that you are betraying that musician you supposedly love. Consider buying it.
That’s my guess…as to why BrightEyes would sell out. He needed the money.
